Whos we though? The 30 people who still follow the forums?
You and @RisarShop would be surprised to realise that since the forums were restored there have always been at least 253 people following them, over any given ninety day period.

Keep on, though, and don't let facts get in the way of your dramatic hyperbole.

... they are serverside, not clientside...
Bullshit, name one.
Unless you count LOL, World Of Warships or EVE as a medieval combat sim.
Every decent 3D game with direct input uses clientside calculations.

Any developer will tell you that the client is never to be trusted. Everything received from the front (and sent from the back) has to be validated. The more overhead involved, the slower the response and the more likely a loss of sync between clients (and server). Client side hit detection that's not being validated is a huge issue for obvious reasons. There's a lot of compensation going on in the back that the developers have to build in if they want to keep shit "sane".

Shit my bad that’s definitely enough to fund a new mmo.

True, server should do validations. I only say that almost no game does only server site, like clearly state in the statement I quoted.
"...these other combat sims are very different, they are serverside, not clientside ".

Been meaning to ask you guys this for a while:

Let’s say a Favonius leaves Tindrem on a horse of speed 70 (as seen on stable ticket). Goodhead moves to intercept on a horse that’s speed 60. Both have equal skills. Favonius however lives a continent away whereas Goodhead lives in the same city as the server.

Based on speed alone and excluding combat or stamina, does Goodhead catch up to Favonius?

In the time of MO2 there are no bridges to other continents so Goodhead will drown in the ocean.
The end.

The high point (since the forums were restored from a 2015 backup after the hostile wipe) was in April of 2019, when approximately 450 forum accounts were active. Even supposing that some of those were unrecognised sockpuppets*, that's more participation than there is now. Not sure that even that many represent "enough to fund a new MMO", but it's only somewhat correlated with the number of people who are playing the game or following it overall**. Still, it couldn't realistically be much less than the numbers we've seen and counted.

----
Footnotes
* If we recognised a forum user account as being an additional persona for another that had already been counted, we didn't let that person count 'twice'.
** A number of people either don't sign up for the forum, or sign up but never become active. We can't count the former, and we don't count the latter, even though some of the latter may be truly following the game-- reading about it, even playing it, but without signing in to the forum.
(Trivially, we also don't count spammers.)
Only Star Vault's Xenforo admins could tell you more, and they don't.
