Page Unsecure

I got in touch with @LGM Discord who told me that there is a problem with the two-factor authentication and “they” (not sure who) are trying to fix it.

My sub ran out 3 days ago, at this point I’m debating whether or not to renew it through Steam. Part of me wants to, but at the same time I can’t bring myself to tell my viewers to try out the game at the moment while the account management site is unsecured.

I recently went back to playing EVE Online and the difference in their security measures is impeccable. I first had to reactivate my old account from way back in ‘03 by clicking an activation link in an email sent to me. Then had to log in a second time, had to enter a security code sent to me in order to add my computer to the account, much like with Steam when you log in on a new computer.

If I was deciding whether to try out EVE or MO as a new player, it’s pretty much a no-brainer.

I wonder if in addition to this valuable feedback^^

you all should try submitting some individually through the form at the bottom of the page at
https://www.starvault.se/#Games , which coincidentally is the page where a new customer might find the link to the INSECURE http://www.mortalonline.com/?

This forum is all-too-easily left unread.

Speaking of feedback, EVE Online has a thumb up/down feature in the options menu that allows players to rate their experience on any given day. I have to say that CCP has really stepped up their customer satisfaction efforts and the game itself feels like a AAAA (quadruple A) title as it is.

This is crazy, are they trying to nudge us to not sub(more than one account)?

Star Vault is nudging folks that way, if they 'mean to' or not. If at any later time they won't want customers having more than one account (an idea I find hard to believe, you know?), maybe people should get used to it, like it or not. It's bad timing for that, though, so it's probably not deliberate.

What I've been able to find out about two-factor authentication in the context of SSL certificates just leaves more questions than answers. Does this mean Star Vault can't somehow prove it owns mortalonline.com? That does sound crazy, so it can't be that-- right?

It makes me wish that SV would at least keep us up to date about what is going on on their end, the ongoing silence is what is killing the game for me.

I do not want to sub just one account through steam(unless we get the option to merge/move toons from one account into another), so, I guess I will not resub till this is fixed :(
Is this an intended feature?

On the cusp of three weeks now... Can we have an ETA on when this is likely to be resolved?
Star Vault has only now, on July 22nd, posted up an explanation (which seems slightly different than what you were told) of the problem:

Our account management page is having issues reaching our payment provider we are aware and looking into it we apologize for the inconvenience.

Star Vault's support site also is coming marked 'insecure', even though there's a login function for someone on that page:

The saddest part about that announcement... is that it was from last year. 2018, to be exact.

You're right, and I'm sorry. I'd delete the post for inaccuracy if it wasn't so coincidental.

Tomorrow, the Dog Days begin. Siriusly.
There is nothing to apologise for. It could easily have been me who thought the announcement was made today, given how much I so want this security lapse nightmare to be over so I can jump back into the game.

How is the Steam payment working? Pay and then login the account to be subscribed?

I'm pissed it took so long.

But I am thankful that it is fixed.

And I can confirm that it is indeed fixed as I just subbed 4 accounts.
